Patung Batu yang Membutuhkan Keseimbangan Menakjubkan


Stone me! Artist Adrian Gray created these gravity-shunning sculptures without any glue or pins, but with a lot of skill and patience

Patung batu menantang gravitasi ini diciptakan seimbang dengan susah payah, tanpa bantuan lem, pin penahan atau apapun.

Adrian Gray (44), menghabiskan berjam-jam menjelajahi pantai terdekat untuk memilih ukuran batu yang sesuai dan cocok untuk karyanya. Setelah itu ia kemudian mengatur mereka dalam posisi yang sulit dengan sangat hati-hati memperkirakan titik keseimbangan setiap batu, sebuah proses yang membutuhkan keterampilan dan kesabaran yang sangat tinggi.

Setiap patung batu membutuhkan waktu berjam-jam untuk sempurna, tetapi ia kini telah menciptakan puluhan patung menakjubkan yang memukau dengan struktur yang tampaknya mustahil dilakukan.

Obsesi Adrian dengan seni menyeimbangkan batu dimulai sembilan tahun lalu ketika, terkena infeksi virus tropis kala menjelajahi Madagaskar saat menjadi pemandu wisata petualangan.

“Aku mulai menciptakan patung seperti ini pada tahun 2002. Saya menghabiskan banyak waktu di pantai untuk mencari inspirasi, saat dalam pemulihan.” Tutur pria asal Lyme Regis, Dorset tesebut.

“Aku baru saja menyerah dalam ekspedisi di luar negeri setelah mendapat virus jahat di Madagaskar. Selama waktu yang sulit, saya menenggelamkan diri dalam seni saya dan berkonsentrasi menciptakan patung batu dalam keseimbangan yang hampir mustahil.” tambahnya.
